Antsy Artist had two surprise visitors at last night’s 3rd Friday music festival and arts and crafts show on Main Street in Safety Harbor.
Phinley (above) is the landshark mascot of the Clearwater Threshers. The Threshers are the Florida State League franchise of the perennial powerhouse Philadelphia Phillies of the National League. Phinley and his assistant were at the event to hand out Threshers’ pocket calendars and other promotional material.
The Threshers are currently 4-9 and in fifth place in the FSL North Division standings. … But it’s a long season!
Antsy’s second visitor was Imani (below), the Hawaiian born and Kenyan raised spoken word artist. We enjoyed talking with her and listening to some of her music. She’s a very talented artist. Imani was at 3rd Friday to promote her appearance on April 28 at Mocha Vida Cafe in St. Petersburg. It’s in celebration of National Poetry Month and Earth Day.
We’re uncertain if our location near several food vendors and across the street from Nolan’s Pub had anything to do with the visits. … But, as the popular reuse artist Antsy says, “It is what it is.”
